A small, structured supervision cohort for therapists who want their hours to actually move them toward certification.
You know you need at least 8 hours of EFCT supervision for certification. What you don’t need is another year of random case chat that doesn’t get you closer to tapes or a confident application.
The EFCT Certification Supervision Pod is a small, time-limited group designed to help you earn your hours and build toward passable tapes, clearer Tango work, and a realistic plan for your certification application.
Pods are capped at 8 therapists and run a few times per year.
I open new cohorts when there’s enough interest (usually 6–8 people ready to go).

You’re an EFCT / couples therapist who:
Has completed (or is close to completing) your EFCT Externship and Core Skills.
Is actively using EFCT with couples and wants to grow in-the-room confidence, not just theoretical understanding.
Is on the path toward ICEEFT certification and needs supervision hours that are actually aligned with that goal.
Feels like supervision has become “talk about my hard cases” instead of “build toward tapes and a coherent application.”
Is anxious about taping, Tango, and meeting the application requirements — and would rather move through that with a guide and a small group than alone.
(what this Pod is and isn't)
Think of the pod as an 8-hour, certification-focused supervision sprint with a small cohort of therapists who are all working toward similar goals.
Inside each pod, you’ll get:
A clear roadmap for how supervision, taping, and your couples can work together to move you toward certification.
Structured group and dyad supervision that counts toward your required hours and is intentionally geared toward building Stage 1 and Stage 2 skills.
Focused support around Tango moves, case selection, and tape planning, instead of scattered discussion that leaves you just as uncertain as when you arrived.
This is not:
An open-ended, drop-in group where people come and go.
General “any modality, any case” supervision.
A place where you’re expected to be perfect or already ready to submit.
It’s a time-limited cohort designed to help you make concrete progress toward certification.
Cohort size:
4 supervisees per pod
Small enough for depth, big enough for shared learning.
Duration:
Approximately 8–10 weeks
Supervision hours (per person):
✅ At least 8 ICEEFT-eligible supervision hours total
~4 hours in small-group supervision
~4 hours in dyad supervision (you + one other supervisee, which still counts as “individual” per ICEEFT guidelines)
(Exact hour classification always depends on ICEEFT’s current policies and your own documentation; the pod is designed with those standards in mind.)
Session rhythm (example):
4 × 60-min Group Calls
Certification roadmap, Tango & Stages focus, case discussions, shared tape learning
4 × 60-min Dyad Calls
Deeper work on your specific couples, clips, stuck points, and tape strategy
All sessions are conducted via secure video, and you’ll be given guidance on how to safely share recordings for review.
(over 8 whole weeks)
Clarifying your certification path
We’ll connect the dots between your Externship, Core Skills, supervision, taping, and the final application so you’re not guessing what “counts.”
Choosing and working your “cert couples”
Identify which couples are the best candidates for future tapes and what needs to happen in Stage 1 and Stage 2 to move them (and you) forward.
Deepening your Tango moves
Bring real clips and real moments where you got stuck. We’ll slow them down, mark where you were in the Tango, and explore what could happen next time.
Building toward usable tapes
Plan which sessions to record, what kinds of moments the board is looking for, and how to refine your work as you go.
Connecting supervision sessions so you’re not starting over each time
Each meeting builds on the last, so you leave the pod with momentum, not just a stack of hours.
Your Investment for 8 weeks of specialized support that meets your supervision hour minimum
Founding Pod Rate – $797
The EFCT Certification Supervision Pod is a small, time-limited cohort designed to give you 8 hours of ICEEFT-countable supervision plus structure, case selection support, and guidance toward certification.
For the first pod(s), the investment will be:
$797 per person for the full pod
What that includes:
~8 hours of EFCT-focused supervision (mix of group + dyad/“individual” hours)
A clear framework for using supervision time intentionally
Support choosing certification-friendly couples
Guidance on taping, reviewing your work, and thinking ahead to the application
A structured, contained experience with therapists who are in the same season you are
This works out to roughly $100 per supervision hour, which is significantly less than my current 1:1 consultation rate of $225/hour, while still giving you targeted, certification-minded support.
Future pods will be $997, but founding cohorts will lock in the $797 rate.
At least 8 hours of EFCT supervision toward certification, done in a structure that’s actually aligned with ICEEFT’s requirements.
A clearer understanding of your strengths and growth edges in Stage 1 and Stage 2 work.
Specific couples and sessions identified as your best candidates for future tapes.
More comfort and intention around taping (not waiting for perfection, but using recordings as a tool for growth.)
A concrete plan for your next 3–6 months on the certification path (even if you’re not ready to apply yet).
A sense that you’re no longer doing this alone. Rather, you’ve got a small cohort and a guide who understands how bumpy this process can feel.
(...and why me as your guide?)
I’m Stephanie Cox, MS, LMHC, a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist and EFCT Supervisor.
A few things that shape how I run these pods:
I completed my EFCT certification journey in about 17 months (instead of the more typical 18–36), not because I rushed, but because I got really intentional about supervision, taping, and focusing on what actually mattered for the application.
I’ve sat exactly where you are: sweaty-palmed in Stage 1, second-guessing my Tango moves, and putting off taping because it felt terrifying to have my work watched.
I care deeply about making EFCT feel doable and human, not like a secret language you’re always behind on.
In these pods, my style is:
Warm, collaborative, and non-shaming
Grounded in the model and the emotional reality of doing this work
Always oriented toward the question:
“How can we turn what you’re already doing in the room into progress toward your certification goals?”
If you want supervision that holds both your clinical growth and your certification journey in mind, you’re in the right place.
A: The pod is structured to align with ICEEFT’s current supervision requirements (a mix of individual/dyad and group hours with a Certified EFT therapist / Supervisor). You’re still responsible for confirming that these hours meet your specific certification and licensing board requirements, but the intention is that they will count toward your ICEEFT supervision total.
A: No. This pod is ideal if you’re actively considering certification and want your supervision to move you in that direction, even if you haven’t picked a submission date yet.
A: Most therapists end up spending years in supervision, consultation, and trial-and-error trying to “figure out EFCT” on their own. The average time to certification is around 18–36 months, which often means:
Ongoing supervision at $100–$175/hour
Plus extra consults, trainings, and workshops
All while feeling like you’re piecing it together alone
The EFCT Certification Supervision Pod is designed to compress some of that wandering.
In this pod, you’re not just logging hours—you’re:
Getting 8 hours of supervision that are deliberately structured around certification
Choosing certification-friendly couples instead of random cases
Using clips and sessions in a way that prepares you for taping and the application
Getting a clear map for how to use your future supervision more effectively
At the founding rate of $797 (and later $997), the pod works out to about $100–$125 per supervision hour—significantly less than my current 1:1 rate of $225/hour, and often less than what people pay for ad-hoc supervision that isn’t actually moving them toward certification.
I can’t promise a specific timeline for your certification, but I can help you avoid spending three years (and thousands of dollars) in supervision that doesn’t have a clear plan behind it. The pod is meant to give you that plan, plus a focused container to make your hours count.
A: You’ll be encouraged (but not shamed) to bring clips as you’re able, because that’s where the richest learning happens. We’ll talk about ethical, secure ways to record and share sessions, and you’ll never be thrown into the deep end without preparation.
A: You can plan for:
4 × 60-min group sessions
4 × 60-min dyad sessions
…spread over approximately 8–10 weeks. There may also be optional brief prep/reflection between sessions.
A: Joining the waitlist does not charge your card. It adds you to my internal pool that I will be contacting first when my next pod dates are set.
When there are enough therapists ready (usually 6–8), I’ll email the waitlist with:
Proposed dates and times
Final details
A link to officially claim a spot and complete payment
You’ll have the option to say “yes, this round,” “no, not this time,” or “please keep me on the list for a future pod.”
If you know you’d like supervision that actually moves you toward certification—and you like the idea of doing that in a small, focused cohort—add your name to the waitlist and you’ll hear about the next pod before I share it anywhere else.
